All craft using the Bridgewater Canal must have a Bridgewater Canal Licence. Before we can send you an application form, you must have a confirmed Bridgewater Canal mooring. Application forms and fees are available on request from the Bridgewater Canal Company Limited.

We will require your name and address, boat name, boat number or index number, length of craft , your confirmed Bridgewater mooring location and the date the craft arrived on the Canal.

Information for Canal & River Trust Licence Holders visiting the Bridgewater Canal
All C&RT craft are subject to the terms and conditions of the Bridgewater Canal whilst they remain on our waterway.
Further to the reciprocal agreement between Bridgewater Canal and Canal and River Trust there is now a booking system which should be booked through the CRT website via your log in (or signing up if you do not have a log in) which can be found here.ย

Calls to this number cost no more than calls to geographic (01 and 02) numbers and are included in inclusive minutes and discount schemes in the same way. See OFCOM for more details.
If you are wishing to extend your stay beyond this, then please purchase a permit via the Bridgewater Canal Website. Permits may be purchased on the day if necessary.
