We hope this finds you all well and that you are looking forward to Christmas. As we are still unable to have meetings in person, we are keeping in contact with you all by our Newsletter Updates.
October Incidents
Oct 8th- concerns regarding an overstaying boat moored opposite Spud Wood, Oughtrington, which is being investigated by the Bridgewater Canal Company.
Oct 14th- a body was found in canal near Marsland Road, Sale.
Oct 22nd- reports of a boat stolen from Castlefield.
Oct 31st- a section of towpath near Edge Lane, Stretford was cordoned off after reports of a suspected grenade found in canal. Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called to remove the device.
November Incidents
Dec 5th- bomb disposal units carried out a controlled explosion in a farmerโs field after a live anti-aircraft round was discovered in the Bridgewater Canal near Walton Lea Road by a magnet fisherman. A section of towpath was closed during the incident as a precaution.
