Canal Navigation & towpath Restrictions
Notice is hereby given, that due to essential maintenance work to a Cadent Gas Main over the Bridgewater Canal, there will be a height restriction of 3.4m for boats and 2.8 for pedestrians and cyclists in the area around the pipe bridge at Astley, Wigan.
Boaters may be asked to moor up for up to an hour while the Scaffold is being installed and removed.
These works are being carried out by contractors, working on behalf of Cadent Gas.
To maintain safety, Boaters, pedestrians & cyclists traveling in this location are asked to be vigilant and obey signs and instructions in the immediate vicinity of the works.
