BARTON SWING AQUEDUCT MAINTENANCE CLOSURE 20th AUGUST 2025

Notice is hereby given that Barton Swing Aqueduct, (situated on the Leigh Branch of the Bridgewater Canal) will be closed to navigation for essential maintenance between 0800 hrs & 1700 hrs Wednesday 20th August 2025.

Work to the Aqueduct is being carried out by The Manchester Ship Canal Company and is expected to be completed within the specified period of time. However, due to the nature of the work the Company cannot guarantee completion on the published date.

The Company regrets any inconvenience that these necessary works may cause.
